Archer Farms Fat Free Pumpkin Pie Yogurt

Posted by Scott - October 27th, 2008

Found At: Super Target
Price: 59 cents
Disclaimer: I haven’t eaten yogurt “regularly” in several years. (It was a diet thing; it didn’t work; I don’t want to talk about it…)
Scott Says: This tastes no different than any other flavor of yogurt that I’ve eaten over the years, except for those that are designed to be flavored like things and actually do. Case in point is those Yoplait Whips things – back in the days when I actually did force myself to eat yogurt in a feeble attempt to shed pounds, this was the particular brand that I enjoyed and I’ll be damned if their key lime pie actually tasted like key lime pie. Or at least it was in the ballpark, which is more than Archer Farms can boast.
Final Fat Free Feelings: It’s tinted orange, and without an extensive use of your imagination, that’s the closest your going to get to pumpkin by eating this yogurt. A perfect example of why the store brand is usually crap, I’ll try this again next year only if Yoplait or another yogurt maker who actually knows flavors is behind the cow…

Little Debbie Pumpkin Delights

Posted by Scott - September 29th, 2008

Purchased From: the same Target as the last three posts…
Delicious-ness Factor: moderate
Notable: These are the first true pumpkin cookies that I’ve seen this season, meaning that they actually taste like pumpkins and not simply resemble them.  Not too shabby!
Flavor to Beat: My Mom makes a killer pumpkin cookie that puts even the best to shame – they not only taste like pumpkins, but I’d be a monkey’s uncle if they didn’t look like them, too.  Unfortunately, I can’t buy Mom’s cookies at Target for $1.99 / box … yet.

Pumpkin Spice Hershey’s Kisses

Posted by Scott - September 29th, 2008

Found At: the Target that I surprisingly haven’t gotten kicked out of for candy voyeurism yet
Taste: good, but not stellar (pumpkin-flavored chocolate is a tricky beast to master)
Worth Noting: This bag sat in my car in the warm Florida sun for several hours before being cracked open, so admittedly they were a little soft.
Recommendable: Indeed – upper end of the scale as far as odd-flavored Hershey’s Kisses are concerned.

Brachs Mellowcreme Pumpkins

Posted by Scott - September 29th, 2008

Origin: Target candy aisle (getting creepier with every photo taken…)
Thoughts: I appreciate the effort, but in reality these are merely glorified candy corn.  As far as I’m concerned, if it doesn’t taste like pumpkin, it’s just standing in the way of something else that does.

Pumpkin Peeps

Posted by Scott - September 29th, 2008

Discovered At: Target
Food for Thought: Peeps are kinda fun to look at, seeing what new shapes and colors they come up with for every season, but I’m not sure that I know of anyone who actually eats these things.
Suggestion: Add flavor.
Suggestion Sub-Note: No, seriously – 99.9% of all Peeps taste exactly the same, but they might actually be able to get some people to eat these things if they tasted more like what they’re intended to resemble!  Case in point, had these been pumpkin-flavored Peeps, I’d have actually purchased them instead of just snapping a quick picture before returning them to the stand.
