TV Post!

I haven’t done one of these in a while, so I thought I’d review what I’ve been watching lately…

Battlestar Galactica
And actually, next week is the final episode! Well, honestly I haven’t been all that thrilled with this season since it started, which is interesting considering this is the first that I actually haven’t watched pretty much back to back either on DVD or DVR all at once. Maybe I’m just sad to see it all come to an end, but I’m really not sure how they’re going to wrap this up in a mere two hours next week.

The Office
Good, solid season – no crazy, cliff-hanger drama. Just the characters being themselves, which I like. This week’s Willy Wonka episode was pretty decent.

Dollhouse
New show on FOX, and after five episodes thus far, I really don’t hate it as much as so many other people claim it sucks. I mean, it’s not great and I’ll kind of be surprised if it makes it to season 2, but it’s watchable. And granted, mostly for the same reasons that The Bionic Woman was watchable in my opinion, but beneath the slutty outfits and whatnot, there actually is something of an interesting plot buried in there.

And no, I’m not just saying all of this out of an affinity for Joss Whedon…

Flight of the Conchords
Admittedly, the new season hasn’t overall been funnier than the first, but it’s still generally enjoyable. I think ultimately if I had to make one critique, it would be that the secondary characters shouldn’t sing because there has been a lot of that this season, whereas in season 1 it was almost exclusively Bret and Jermaine. Also, I’m getting the impression that the first season was written around their existing songs as a band before the show, whereas the new season is seeing everything written at the same time, but I could be wrong.

The Simpsons
There’s really not much sense in even having this one on the list, as I’ll pretty much be watching The Simpsons until it gets taken off the air … and that, frankly, will be a sad, sad day. Nonetheless, I will admit that last Sunday’s episode that saw Flanders buying the Simpsons’ house was a little harsh – I think they pushed the Stupid Flanders bit a little too far in that one, but oh well.

Top Chef
This one ended a few weeks ago, and the guy who I liked won. Not much more to say than that.

The Celebrity Apprentice
I’ll profess that this Trump “hit” is very much so a guilty pleasure for me at this point – Tom Green is pretty much the only likable character this season, if that tells you anything. Lots of celebs are really proving themselves to be humongous jerks this time around, so I’m pretty much just watching to see guys like Herschel Walker and Clint Black make asses of themselves.

The Exterminators
Not a guilty pleasure – just a neat, albeit often times gross, show on A&E that I discovered a few weeks ago on a particularly lazy Sunday. I guess I enjoy this one not only because it’s interesting to see just how he solves all of these pest problems, but maybe more so because the lead guy (Billy) really seems like a genuinely nice guy who truly enjoys his work. Kind of like the Tuttles on American Chopper before the show got really popular…except like I said, nice.

Plus, he prides himself in being an animal-friendly exterminator, meaning that he pretty much only kills bugs and tries to trap everything else to later release back into the wild, which I think is kinda cool.
